Anchorage methods and treatment outcomes in the treatment of bimaxillary protrusion: a systematic review and meta-analysis

AimThis systematic review aimed to identify the most effective anchorage methods producing better skeletal, dental, aesthetic and patient experience outcomes in treatment of bimaxillary protrusion.MethodsElectronic databases (Pubmed, Medline, Scopus, Cochrane library) were searched without language restrictions. Unpublished studies for on clinicaltrials.gov. Search terms included proclination, dentoalveolar protrusion, biprotrusion, prognathism, bidental. Treatment patients with protrusion included. Relevant articles assessed quality according guidelines data extracted statistical analysis. Using predefined forms two authors eligibility inclusion study any disagreement was discussed. Risk Bias tool used assessment GRADE assess evidence.ResultsFour met criteria, while 32 excluded based design and/or no outcome interest reported. Only three random-effects meta-analysis.
